这部电影剧本很单薄，一开始以为是史泰龙越狱，紧接着中国富商之女被绑架，张晋和史泰龙联手营救，原来这是一部纯粹的动作电影，有英雄救美的色彩。同时电影中添加了中国元素和张晋利落的身手，但是真跟越狱没什么关系，还是第一部和施瓦辛格拍得金蝉脱壳经典。

这部电影感觉是以张晋的武打身手和史泰龙的重武器作为卖点的纯动作电影，一开始以为和金蝉脱壳第一部类似是越狱题材的电影。后来看才知道是去监狱里救人了，然后把反派打的落花流水，纯史泰龙式快意恩仇类型的电影
